Business Ethics

Business Ethics – Appropriate Decision Making.  Are business ethics just a matter of opinion? Are they rules that govern how we behave in a group or business setting? How do you know what’s expected? This session answers those questions and provides guidelines for communicating business ethics in a clear method to all organizational stakeholders. Specific areas to be covered during this session are:The history of and necessity for ethics in the workplaceHow workplace culture governs ethicsThe changing (evolving) nature of ethicsUnconscious biasWhile human resources professionals may not have sole responsibility for guiding the business ethics of their organization, they can be a strategic contributor when armed with the information to about why ethics matter. Attendees will be provided with a clear understanding of the strategic value to the organization of a clearly defined set of business ethics. Examples will be provided of organizations that have flourished where deep seated values have been evidenced by their principles, strategies and practices.

Linda Bond Edwards

Although I litigate employment law disputes for employers, my greatest strength lies in advising and counseling employers to resolve internal disputes. As a Florida Supreme Court certified mediation and a trained arbitrator, there is such a value in resolving employment disputes. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) techniques save money and time and allow the parties to come to a much quicker resolution.

I also try to assist employers in taking proactive steps that increase productivity and build stronger relationships with employees.

Specialties:Wage and hour litigation, discrimination, retaliation and harassment claims, training on employment law in-house and public, union negotiation. Workplace audits and practices review. Independent internal investigation of employee complaints.

Proactive Approach to Avoid and Limit Liability
