Solving the Bermuda Square:  Managing Leave Under 2009 Employment Laws

It is not enough to know the legal do's and don'ts of the American with Disabilities ACT (ADA), the Family Leave Act (FMLA), and Worker's Compensation (WC) laws individually.  The coordination of leave under the ADA, FMLA, and the WC creates human resource headaches and organizational liability.  The growing interpretation taht unpaid leave is indeed considered a reasonable accommodation under the ADA has created an even greater challenge for the human resource professional attempting to understand how they interact with each other, when they overlap, and which law takes precedence when they collide.
